On April 17th  we traveled to Camden, New Jersey to participate in the Battleship New Jersey encampment.  When we first got to the ship, we rode the flight simulator and looked in the gift shop.  Then we boarded the ship and went to our small bunks.  We then had a fire drill and left the ship.  After the drill we ate dinner.  After dinner we went on a guided tour and then went to bed.  The next day we ate breakfast and did our merit badge work and after that the self guided tour.  Finally, we packed up, bought some souvenirs and then went home.

Reading Rocks Trip

On February 27th the Troop went to Reading Rocks indoor rock climbing facility and it was a blast!  It was a huge warehouse looking building and it looked bigger on the inside then the outside. We were instructed by the staff on all the phrases to say and also how to belay properly. Then we were allowed to climb wherever we wanted. The difficulty was split up by different colors of tape that were placed under each part of the rock wall to tell you how hard that part was. And there were different types of walls, most of it looked like regular old rock walls but there was one section that actually looked like the side of a mountain. I tried and it was really hard, it took me about 15 minutes to get up it. One of the instructors was what some boys considered the "moral support". I finally got up it and by the time I got down I couldn’t feel my arms. All the boys did great and I can’t wait till the next time we go!!!

AvalancheXpress Trip

On January 24th we went to PA to go snow tubing at AvalancheXpress.  It was the first time I have ever been tubing.  It was raining but not real cold.  The first couple of times I went down I had a bad tube but the people that worked there were really nice and let me get a different tube,  I went down the hill and crashed a few times it was fun.  I got a hot chocolate at the snack bar and it was really good.  I was soaking wet because of the rain but I didn’t care because I was having so much fun.  Mr. Kotch was funny because you could hear him laughing all the way down the hill everytime he went down.  Bryan said he had a pile-up of him, Tyler and Malachi in lane 5 and they were laughing too hard to get up.

We had a real good time and want to go back.
